Our view
It's possible, some will argue highly probable, that we could see a re-election of Donald Trump in 2024. However, it is unlikely that all of the provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act will be rescinded, especially the protectionist elements of the act where Donald Trump has been a fervent advocate of the America First agenda.
Additionally, one of the most striking and ironic part of the Inflation Reduction Act and the Chips Act is that 80 per cent of the money allocated is going to Republican districts. Our view is that the Inflation Reduction Act is here to stay, for the immediate future anyway.
